City of Vienna | International Offices – Sarajevo

Since the cooperation agreement between Vienna and Sarajevo was concluded in 1998, a lot of mutual projects were developed, for example in the field of waste management, the construction of an up-to-date communal administration and energy and environmental engineering. The longtime relations between the Sarajevo fire brigade and the Vienna fire brigade and projects of youth and social politics are also worth emphasizing. Moreover, Vienna got involved in the reconstruction of the Sarajevo town hall in the year 1998 as well as when urgent financial support was needed at the time of the floods in 2014.
